Hypnotherapy helps to reprogram the subconscious mind (the part of your brain that controls your habits and beliefs) so that change is easy. It’s completely safe, you are always in control and aware enough to hear my voice. Everything that I suggest in hypnosis will be discussed and agreed upon before we start. It’s 100% positive re-inforcement.

What you focus on expands your awareness. In hypnosis we focus on your strengths and positive attributes to create change at a deeper level. So imagine all the things that are possible with hypnotherapy. Most people don’t even realise but hypnotherapy can be used to overcome anxiety and stress; fears and phobias; sleep difficulties; weight gain; addictions and overeating; negative self-talk; past trauma and PTSD; grief; self-sabotage; low self-esteem and chronic or stubborn health issues.

In hypnosis you are in control at all times. It is a bit like relaxing before you go to sleep to allow the nervous system to calm down and settle, helping our physical body to relax and soften. In fact, the state of hypnosis is connected to the REM state which happens during dreaming. You will hear my voice and it will be like listening to a gentle guided relaxation and visualisation journey, just like when you are dreaming. I will offer suggestions to help let go of things you are ready to release and by following my voice you will know exactly what to do. You will be led into a comfortable and safe place to meet the future you who will have all the positive attributes you want in order to be happy and healthy.

We might address certain blocks or underlying limited beliefs that are holding you back from achieving your goals and moving forward in life. Sometimes, it’s necessary to go back to a part of our earlier experience to re-visit an event that is underlying this block or limiting belief. In hypnosis, we can easily talk to this younger part of ourselves and help re-frame the experience to be able to heal and move on from that younger state. Hypnotherapy also encompasses neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques. These are great tools that can be used quickly and effectively within hypnosis to move through fears, anxiety and heal from trauma.

So, say you want to lose weight and have better control over your the way you eat and your food choices. We will make a plan and go over your lifestyle habits and emotions associated with eating and food. I’ll ask about your past relationship with food and past influences as well as look at any self-sabotaging that might be going on. We’ll talk about your goals and how you want to feel, look, be once you’ve achieved your goals.

We’ll discuss supplementation and lifestyle changes such as breathing and slowing down to be more mindful whilst eating. We’ll make a very clear plan together about what your ideal life will look like. I’ll include all your favourite things like your favourite place in nature that makes you feel good. We’ll talk to the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that controls the way we respond to eating and the messaging about feeling full, so it will be easier to eat less and feel full quicker.

The important thing to remember is that we are making change together and your input is just as important as the hypnosis part. So all the daily lifestyle changes you make will re-inforce the subconscious changes so that your body will make those long-lasting positive changes more effectively.

Hypnotherapy can be done in person or via zoom. I recommend three hypnotherapy sessions on average to attend to most issues. These sessions will be different each time as we work through the issue and resolve deeper layers.
