Grandmother tree meditation
Whilst hiking in the Nelson Lakes recently, I had the good fortune to come across an old old beautiful beech tree. There are many beautiful old beech trees in the Nelson lakes area, however, this particular one had a gift for me.
I was drawn to its incredible beauty and radiance, and had to walk over closer to have a look at it. This tree had a stout trunk, not particularly high but broad strong branches covered in moss. It was standing in a beautiful glade on its own with sunlight streaming down through the leaves. I felt I was in the presence of an old beautiful kuia, a grandmother.
As I walked up to its trunk I wanted to put my hand up and feel the bark. I laid my hand on the mossy soft green on its trunk and connected with the feeling of this tree. It emanated such a deep deep feeling of peace and faith. A feeling of profound knowing that all is completely as it should be. I had never felt such a feeling before in my life. I was deeply touched. I stood here for a couple of minutes just being with this incredible peace.
Today, I wanted to share this with you and also to record a guided visualisation for you to journey inward to find and connect with your own inner deep resource. A sacred place in nature where this gift is here for you too.
