Emotional Release Therapy is a way to identify things on an energetic and emotional level that might have got pushed down and not dealt with properly from past traumatic experiences. These emotions if left un-processed can result in physical imbalance.

We might notice tension, pain or dis-ease in areas of our body. Sometimes our sleep is affected or it might be harder to keep off excess weight. It's common to experience lowered immunity with recurring colds and flu.

Self-acceptance and forgiveness

Our traumas need our loving attention so we can:

  1. Release the charge they have in our body preventing us from thriving
  2. Release frozen or trapped emotions
  3. Uncover and transform thought patterns that are not serving us in our present life

To truly heal we must allow ourselves to feel our suppressed emotions, to make peace with those parts of ourselves that we have judgements about. To accept and forgive past hurts, allowing our bodies to release at a deep cellular level.

When we have made peace with our past trauma, we can experience:

  • greater happiness
  • more love for ourselves
  • better connection in relationships
  • more peace and success
  • greater freedom in our lives
  • good health and vitality
  • being grounded

Lessons are being learned and we become healthier on every level.

Remember, we need these life lessons so that we can learn about self-love and acceptance, as well as develop compassion for others via our own experiences. There are opportunities to grow from everything that happens to us.

What does Emotional Release Therapy involve?

Through a guided one on one session, you will be invited to lie comfortably so you can relax into a deeper receptive state. As you tune into your breath and the awareness of your inner senses, you will start to become aware of the feelings and sensations inside your body.

With the help of your breath, we will follow the sensations and your body's innate wisdom to locate any suppressed or trapped emotions that are ready to be released.

As we do the guided work, I will place my hands gently around the body to support the the energy release and transformation.

Inner Child Work and the Creative Brain

In an Emotional Release Therapy session, the creative brain is really important to us. Our imagination can provide useful insights and can also be used for healing at a deep conscious level.

Often, it's useful to work with our inner child for deeper healing. In this case, I will ask you to visualize or feel your younger self or inner child.

By listening and connecting to our younger self, we can understand her/his hurts and needs that were not being met at that time. Through loving and being with our younger self at this level, we are actively healing the past and allowing our inner child's deeper needs to be met in a safe way.

With healing comes more space for loving feelings and more energy to flow properly. You will leave feeling calmer and lighter, with your feet on the ground.

It takes courage to be on a healing journey, but with Emotional Release therapy the process is gentle and we work within the parameters for what is safe for your body in this moment.

Emotional Release Therapy is a culmination of this journey and my work as a Naturopath and Massage Therapist. As a Naturopath I have dealt with many health conditions and have seen real progress when we make the connection between our mind/emotions and our body's well-being.

Trauma is necessary

Everything that happens to us is part of our life plan. On a soul level we want the challenges: the feelings of loneliness, the parents who weren’t present, the bullying, the addictions etc. so we can learn the lessons our soul wants us to. Our past shapes how we function in the world today.

Understanding this at a mental level doesn’t necessarily heal the physical or emotional body. We need to go deeper into the body awareness and heal at this level through Emotional Release Therapy to really experience change.

When the time is right, you are ready

In an Emotional Release Therapy session, you are in a safe space. When the time is right, your body will be ready to let go of all that's not serving you. It takes courage to face your fears and take that step into the unknown. Remember, you will only experience what you're ready for at this time.
